On-The-Go Snacks To Help You Maintain Your Diet

As you go about your weight loss diet plan, one thing that you’ll want to make sure you’re doing is keeping tabs on all the snacking you’re doing. Having the right on-the-go snacks can help with this.

While some people come to believe that you shouldn’t snack on a diet plan at all, others go a little too crazy and their snacking begins to get out of hand.

If you want to see the most progress possible, you do want to include some snacks in your day to help keep your blood sugar levels stable and your energy high, but you do need to make sure that they are structured properly.  If they aren’t, you’ll just run up your total calorie intake and cause weight gain.

Let’s take a look at some of the top on-the-go snacks that you can easily pack with you to take anywhere you happen to be going.

Canned Tuna And Whole Wheat Crackers

One great option to really help you boost your total protein intake is canned tuna with whole wheat crackers.  Canned tuna that comes in a pop-top can is easy to use and the crackers will provide some fiber and healthy carbs to keep you energized throughout the day.

Make sure that you are limiting yourself to just three or four crackers to keep your calorie intake in check.

A Whole Wheat Tortilla With PB And A Banana

The second option of our on-the-go-snacks that you’ll want to consider is a soft tortilla with some peanut butter and a banana.  This will provide healthy fats, a small dose of protein, and some healthy carbs.

To keep the calorie intake in check, choose the smallest tortilla available and only use half the banana.  For those with higher calorie intakes, the whole banana can be used.

Home-Made Trail Mix

Another on-the-go snacks option that will offer a good balance of nutrients is home-made trail mix.  It’s important that you do prepare this yourself however so that you don’t get a variety that contains far too much added sugar and fat.

Combine together some pretzels, nuts, dried fruit, and a few pieces of dark chocolate if you’d like.

Place about a quarter to half a cup in a Tupperware container and take it with you anywhere not just on the trail!

Keep in mind that this is a very energy dense snack, so your serving size must be kept on the very low side.

An Apple With Almond Butter

Finally, the last quick snack that will help you get through your day with your diet intact is an apple with a bit of almond butter.  Almond butter is excellent since it’ll provide some protein, and is also rich in healthy fats. It contains less sugar than peanut butter as well, adding to the benefits that it offers.

Smear it on the apple for added fiber and crunch and you’ll be all set.

So next time you’re in need of a snack, consider all of these options.  They’ll work far better than any convenience snack you pick up.
