ARE YOU DOING EVERYTHING YOU CAN…?
- To arm your child for success in life?
- To help them do the best they can do in school?
- To develop their self confidence?
- To learn self discipline?
- To learn what it really takes to succeed in life?
Most parents do all they can to help teach important things like these to their children. But when children have free time After School many parents need some help. The time that your child spends after school before you get home are some of the most crucial hours in a child’s life.
How is your child spending their after school time?
Let’s look at this deeper:
The average child spends 3-4 hours somewhere after school before their parents come home.
From 1st to 7th grade most kids spend about 200 days in school out of the year.
200 days times 3 hours is 600 hours a year a child spends doing…what?
- Some go to child care
- Some go home and play video games or watch tv, or go out with there friends doing what ever they want.
- Others get into serious trouble.
Not our students.
I know you want the best for your child or you wouldn’t be reading this. So what do you do to prepare them for the challenges of life? How can you teach them how to have a positive attitude, be self motivated, to set and attain goals and to learn how to concentrate and focus? This is not an easy task as this specialized education is not taught in schools, o football, baseball or soccer fields either. Sadly it’s not even taught in our community organizations or religious groups. Life skills like this, if taught to children at a young age, will have a huge impact on the outcome of their lives and how successful they are as adults.
I have a soft spot in my heart for these young children. I know that with the right direction and training their lives can be changed significantly for the better. I know, I was a overweight child, and when I got into martial arts, my entire life changed so much I really can’t imagine what my life would be like had I not started martial arts at such a young age. As a matter of fact once I started doing marital arts my confidence went through the roof and I lost over 50lbs in the 8th grade and was voted most “changed” by my classmates. See I understand first hand all the positive effects martial arts has on a young persons life. Not only did I learn to defend myself against bullies but I also learned how to set and achieve small measurable goals that turn into big goals and big achievement.
I have made it my personal goal that at Elite Edge we will teach much more than just kicking and punching. Before I ever opened up a school, I told myself I would specialize in personal development, and real life skills that would make a real difference in children’s lives.
Our entire program is focused around this premise. Yes, I 100% believe we teach the best in martial arts training, that isn’t enough though. Our entire children’s curriculum is centered around real Life Skills and Goal Setting. That will carry over into every aspect of your child’s life.
But you don’t have to take my word for it just check out this testimonial from one of my student’s Mother:
“It’s all about Discipline and Self Confidence! “I have seen a lot of growth in Hunter. Being 6 years old, struggled to learn how to concentrate and focus and had no discipline. Being at Elite Edge I have seen Hunters self confidence sky rocket. The instructors have helped his self confidence so much, by teaching him that he can do things that he thought were impossible for him to do. Now he believes he can do anything and has pushed through so many barriers through discipline and focus”

Here is a little about Our Childrens Coach Jason Hoeke
Here are just a few of the benefits of our program;
- Improved concentration
- Self Esteem and improved self confidence
- Understanding self discipline and why it is absolutely necessary for success (This alone often improves grades in school)
- Increased motivation and the development of a positive mental attitude (This allows them to learn from their failures and grow from their successes)
- Goal setting skills and practical application
- The self confidence and self discipline to say “NO” to drugs and other negatives
- Stranger Danger training. (Learning how to spot and avoid danger. What to do if danger is unavoidable)
- Social interaction, sportsmanship, camaraderie and fun!
Since starting to teach, I have seen many children benefit from our unique approach to teaching martial arts.
Overweight children that have lost a few pounds through self discipline and exercise and gained tremendous amounts of self esteem and self confidence.
Smart children, who were bored in school, learned to set goals and reach higher.
Shy children were brought out of their shell and learned to enjoy life.
Overactive children learned to channel their energy and focus their attention
We buy our kids clothing, toys, video games, take them to movies and spend tons of money to improve there life. So I ask you this can you think of a better gift to give your child than to empower them with greater self esteem, confidence, focus and concentration.
At Elite Edge we have developed a unique program which combines physical training with life skills development.
- Set a goal
- Have a plan
- Work hard towards it’s achievement
- Persevere until you reach the goal
- Celebrate
- Then Set a higher goal
At Elite Edge we understand Every Child is Special.
Each of our Instructors are trained to give each child attention so that every child feels important, makes steady progress and continues to show progress.
We learn each child’s strengths, weaknesses and motivation. Our Full Time instructional staff is focused and competent to meet the needs of even the most challenging students.
Our Children’s Martial arts program is one of a kind. If you’re a parent and you want the best for your child, look no further than Elite Edge.
